  24. Two of the industry's most creative companies enter into
  25. technology and distribution relationship

April 9, 1995, NAB, Las Vegas:  NewTek, Inc. and Xaos Tools have jointly announced both a technology bundling and a distribution relationship. NewTek will bundle Xaos Tools' "Pennello" animated brushing technology into the new multi-platform version of LightWave 3D available for Windows and Windows NT on Intel, DEC Alpha and MIPS based systems, as well as the Amiga. In addition, Xaos Tools will be the worldwide exclusive distributor of NewTek's LightWave 3D animation system on the Silicon Graphics platform.

According to NewTek President Tim Jenison, "Xaos Tools provides two critical elements. First, Xaos Tools will provide a constant stream of creative tools that will  significantly enhance all of our technology, beginning with the Pennello engine built into LightWave. Second, they have dramatic marketing and distribution plans unfolding in the SGI marketplace, which will let us penetrate that market while we focus and keep our eye on the PC market."

  36. LightWave for the SGI is anticipated to ship by May 31st, and Xaos Tools will be offering LightWave on the SGI for the Suggested List Price of $1995. As an introductory offer, LightWave can be purchased from Xaos Tools up until May 31, 1995 for $995.
